Principal's message
Welcome to Swan Hill Specialist School and thank you for taking the time to view our website.
Our school is a caring and specifically designed learning environment that provides our students with disabilities with the opportunity and pathways through the development of individual education plans.
Currently we are undergoing some physical changes through newly designed and built learning spaces.
Our curriculum is implemented to enhance our student’s skills and provide a solid base of learning for the future. Literacy and numeracy are a strong focus, as are communication skills, personal and interpersonal skills and skills for life. Victorian Curriculum drives our day-to-day teaching across the school and VPC is offered alongside to enhance opportunities for senior students. This curriculum sets the scene for academic growth and also equips our students with the skills required to be an active member of the wider community.
Our school provides a highly skilled team of teachers, ES and Allied Health Professionals who support the wellbeing of our staff, students and families.
Our teaching and learning staff provide engaging and differentiated programs to our students and are continually updating their own professional practice through regular attendance of professional learning with the support of a coaching team within the school and a Professional Learning Community with other local schools.
Our school values of Belonging, Kindness and Trust underpin all our actions and are core to the business of Swan Hill Specialist School
You are welcome to visit our school and view all our engaging programs and our purpose built facilities.

We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we live and learn and pay our respects to Elders past, present and future. We pay respect to the educators who support us to be the best we can be as we continue our learning journey under the watchful eye of Wiran, the Red Tailed Black Cockatoo, our Totem.
