Visual Arts
Swan Hill Specialist School's Visual Arts program is an inclusive program that aims to develop students’ visual arts techniques with a wide range of materials, processes and technologies. Sessions run for 30 minutes once per week when students attend the art room to paint, sculpt, draw and create.
Our Art program develops students respect and appreciation for Art and extending their imagination by running excursions to local and state Art Galleries. In 2019 our school visited the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne to view the amazing work of artist Esher X Nendo. In 2018 the Senior Years Students visited the amazing Piccoli’s Spanner Sculptures in Boort. During these excursions students are encouraged to enjoy, view, discuss, analyse, interpret and evaluate the art.
Each year we have opportunities to participate in art activities from outside agencies and organisations. These include show entries, Art Gallery Excursions, Forrest of Christmas Trees, Calendar Entries, Road Safe etc.
